Born and AKC registered Mryiah Chocolate Stewart, Sophie (as we call her) is mine and Shelli's little Chocolate Min-Pin. She is 5.5 lbs of curious, prancing, jumping and sometimes shy, pure joy. She takes walks with me, She listens to me when I need to talk, she looks at me so lovingly with those beautiful little chocolate brown eyes. We love to cuddle and she keeps me company. She sleeps right up in the recliner with me all night...goes to sleep when I do and gets up when I do. She kisses me all over my face then I give her a kiss and she kisses me some more, until she's had enough kisses. Then she curls up under the blankie away from the air conditioner and goes nite-nite. We both snore so neither of us complains about that. Sometimes when I wake up in the morning, she has streched her body out the full length of my thigh and is laying on her back with her two front feet straight up in the air. She is such a funny baby. She loves to go bye-bye in the car. She gets very anxious when she sees me getting ready to go. It is so funny, when she sees my reflection in the mirror she barks at me, I guess she can't figure out why all of a sudden, there are two of me. When I pick up the keys she heads straight for the door...jumping, jumping up and down!
Everyone who sees her just falls in love with her. People admire her everywhere we go. I've never been told not to bring her into any store.
Sophie doesn't like it when strangers approach her so I have to keep treats close by to help calm her and train her how to be friends with humans. She is so funny..sometimes when strangers talk to her, if she doesn't want their attention she will turn her head away from them and lay her chin up on my shoulder as if to say,
"I am just not in the mood."
She doesn't like it when I leave her (I made that mistake once) for my doctor appointments or if I go out to eat so her Aunt Kay (my sister) puppy sits her for me while I'm away. She likes Aunt Kay, she buys treats and keeps them at her house just for Sophie.
We love each other unconditionally. She has brought so much pleasure into my life. It is "almost" like having another child in the house.
The day Sophie discovered an intruder in our home.
One day around 11:30am I was sitting in the living room watching tv when all of a sudden Sophie began barking furiously and looking down the hallway. I got up and went to investigate to see what was wrong but I could see nothing out of the ordinary. So I went back and sat down to watch my show. But Sophie continued to bark insisting that something was wrong. Looking through the hallway: I assumed she was seeing one of my spirit friends. This continued for about 11 minutes. So just as curious as Sophie, I decided to stand there and watch to see what she was barking at when all of a sudden I saw the afternoon sun peeping in and out through the curtains in the hallway.
Born and raised to almost 18 months in the kennel. She was only in my home for two days before she learned that if she must "go" while she is inside, this is to be done on the puppy pad. That is very important because with the illness I have, it isn't always possible for me to go out and walk with her. She would much rather go outside but she has picked up on her potty training very quickly.
My nephew Cliff and his wife Colleen breeds these wonderful little bundles of joy. Sophie was with puppies in Jan. this year 2005 and couldn't deliver her litter of three so she had to have a c-section. They said she had such a hard time of it that they would not put her through that again, so they had her spayed. They have many more babies (both small and large breed) to feed and care for in their kennel so it is just to hard to keep the ones that are not helping to pay for their stay. After I talked to them about my losing Baby (my little Schitzu) they decided that I might be the one to give Sophie a good home. So Sophie came to live with me.
If you think you might be interested in purchasing one of these wonderful babies or maybe one of a larger breed, you can contact my nephew and his wife at Stewarts Kennel. I have asked if I could add their link here because Sophie has brought so much joy to my life that I just can't imagine anyone living without experiencing the love that she has brought to me.
