Cockpit

The cockpit canopy swings to one side for entry. The cockpit is quite roomy, but requires a little dexterity to get into.

This shows the inside of the cockpit. The canopy latch is rather complex but works well and has an overcenter lock. I don't have the instrument panel installed as yet.

Tail Assembly

The tail assembly has a conventional elevator and rudder. The elevator is connected to the stick by a push-pull control cable, while the rudder has a single cable to each rudder pedal.

Left Wing

This is the left wing, ready for cover. The aileron is a full span trailing-edge flap that is built as part of the wing and then cut away. The aileron is not installed in this picture.

This is the completed aileron for the left wing.

Right Wing Under Construction

Here are two views of the right wing under construction. I have just finished putting the leading edge ply on the wing and am getting ready to cut the aileron free. (Sept. '99)

This shows the completed right wing, with the aileron cut free.

I am applying the plywood to the leading edge of the right wing aileron. (Nov. 1999)

This shows the aileron installed on the right wing. (Jan. 2000)

Both wings are now complete and ready for cover.

As are the ailerons.
