Tyger's Diary for July 21, 1999
Meowy day everyone! As you can see, we seem to be off to a good start, what with two awards already. Aw, gee, thank you so much! I couldn't be more proud! Today we talk about Tang, my siamese cat. He's a male, and 10 years old, a seal point siamese. He's not good enough for the cat show ring, but that's okay with me. I didn't get him for entering cat shows and he's never been to one. Tang thinks he's the king of the family. To him, everything and everyone is his. He doesn't have the nicest of dispositions. He doesn't like to be held. He loves attention, but only as long as you don't pick him up. If you pick him up and hold him very long, he growls and spits at you till you put him back down. He hates my other cats, but he loves my dogs! Go figure that one out! He tolerates Keedie, but he doesn't accept Misty and SnowPuff at all. Put them together and you get a spitting and growling match! The fur seldom flies, though. They don't resort to violence, just angry words! Tang likes his space and solitude. When he was a kitten, I had a german shepherd who had just had a litter of puppies. When she lost the puppies because i sold them all, she missed them so much, she started mothering Tang. Tang became very attached to her (her name was Fantasy). When she died, he really pined away for her. He was so lonely, we thought Keedie would be good company for him. But he never really accepted her. He prefers my other dogs. However, both dogs being male, they don't mother him! They do want to play with him. But Tang doesn't appreciate being chased! So he's adjusted to his loss, but I think he's still lonely for Fantasy. He misses his surrogate mother! That's it for this edition. Take a look at the info on Egypt below.

The cat was popular in Egypt. They were looked upon as gods (as the goddess Bastet, goddess of fertility), mummified, and immortalized in statues and art. In addition, as we all know, the Sphynx has the body of a lion. (if I misspelled that, let me know! I wasn't sure!) It has been rumored that the original head of the Sphynx was a lion's head, and that it was built 10,000 years ago when the contellation of Leo was rising in the sky. But this is only speculation, not fact.
