Tyger's Diary Sept. 8,1999 and A Poem
Grrrrreetings gang! Welcome to another edition of my diary! Today's story is about Blackie. I don't think I told you about him yet. Blackie was SnowPuff's full brother. He was black and white striped and had no white feet or markings of any kind. I suppose Blackie wasn't really quite the right name for him. But it was all that came to mind at the time I named him. He was an outdoor cat. He was never willing to come into the house. In fact, he was almost impossible to catch most of the time. So after I brought Keedie and SnowPuff inside, I was forced to just leave food and water out every day for Blackie. I just couldn't get him to come in. He lived outside like that by himself for a little over 3 years. A couple of times he came home injured. One time I managed to catch him and fix up his injuries. He had a wounded tail, although I don't know how he got that. I put antibiotic on it and bandaged him up and it healed beautifully. But he still wouldn't stay with me. He begged to be let out and made a terrible ruckus in the house. He even peed on the floor. So I relented and let him back out. After that, I couldn't catch him any more. He wanted to be fed, but didn't seem to want my help. Then one day after I fed him, he climbed over the back yard fence meowing loudly and repeatedly to me, almost as if he was trying to tell me something. He never came back again. For several days I called him and called him (he used to come to eat when I called). But he didn't show up. Then one night I had a really bad dream about him falling into a hole in the ground and being terrorized by a car and another cat. (Like a sort of a premonition, I suppose.) So I can only assume that he must have died. But I can never be sure. I never saw him after that. I felt so sad. If he had only been willing to come to me, he would have had a nice home in the house with his mother and brother. But he refused. So there was little I could do about it. I didn't want to call animal rescue because I didn't want him put to sleep. He was really a lovely cat and I loved him dearly. So that's the way it went. And that's my story for today. See you next time! Keep purring!

MY CAT; MOTHER KEEDIE
by TygerStar079 Sept. 8, 1999
From out of nowhere one day she came,
She didn't even have a name,
Perched atop my window sill,
She came crying and gave me a thrill,
I fed her and took her into my home,
From that day on, I was never alone,
She gave me her babies, I took them in,
I had her spayed so she could win,
Some relief from the males that were chasing her, They raped her and bit her and ruffled her fur, But now at my hearth she happily sits,
Free from hunger and fear with her kits, Living a life of peace and love,
Never to roam under night skies above,
Never again to be lonely or fear,
She and her babies live with me here,
Bringing me joy and removing each tear,
She's my lovely kitty, I'm glad she came here!

A Poem in addition to a story today, just for a change! I hope you enjoyed it!

See you next time!
