Tyger's Diary Aug. 14, 1999
Grrrreetings everyone! Welcome to the one month anniversary/birthday of The Tyger's Den! Yep, today The Tyger's Den celebrates it's first full month in operation. Just one month ago today I wrote the first entry into Tyger's Diary! It's a grrrreat day to celebrate, folks! Celebrate, too, by checking out Mother Keedie's new homepage at The Pet Vine. The address to visit is:
Mother Keedie's Place and see what you think of it. Let me know if you like it. I'm only just learning this html thing, so it's not impressive. But I think it's pretty good, considering I didn't know what I was doing and had very little help doing it! Today I'd like to tell you a little bit about the cats that belonged to a friend of mine. Back in the '60's I knew a very nice guy named Paul Gilmore. Interestingly enough, Paul had the same number of cats that I had. In fact, one of his cats, Pequot, could have been the twin sister of my cat, Heidi Kitten, they looked that much alike. Paul's cats were: Pequot, as I mentioned, a black and white half siamese female, Ootsie, a black and white striped male with a cute patch marking on his upper lip that looked like half of a mustache, Punky Stardock, an all white male, Davie, an orange striped male, Boo Boo, also an orange striped male, but he was older (Davie was a kitten when I saw him), Tuna Bay, a dark gray and white male (mostly white with gray patches), and Mouser, a gray and white long-haired male. As you can see, Paul had a wonderful imagination when it came to names. Most of his pets had very interesting and unique names. I got to meet the cats. I remember Tuna was so sweet. I went up to him and said "Hello beautiful kitty" and he touched noses with me! They were all very friendly and loving cats, except for Punky, who was a little on the shy side, kind of a loner type of cat. I'd have to say that, for the most part, I haven't met many nasty cats in my lifetime. In fact, I can count on one hand the number of nasty cats I've known out of the 50 or so cats I've had and/or met in my lifetime to this date. To me, that means that the majority of cats are loving and friendly. Good odds for anyone considering adopting a cat. You're bound to get lucky! I found Paul's cats to be every bit as intelligent and good-natured as mine. Except for Tang, my siamese, that is. He does have a very nasty disposition. But I find this to be the exception, not the rule. Tang is the only cat in my household who growls and spits on a regular basis, literally, at the least provocation. He's got to be the hardest cat in the world to photograph! Have a grrrrreat weekend, fellow cat-lovers! I'll see you next time! Purrrrrfectly marvellous to see you here!
