THE WEEKLY HOWL
September 13, 1999
Hey, how's it going out there everyone?! Today I'd like to tell you about some of our travels in the car. The mistress always takes us along with her whenever she travels anywhere. Once I remember (this was when Ian and Pepsi were still with us) we all piled into the car, all the cats included, for a drive and the mistress took us all the way into Connecticutt! We crossed over the state line and stopped at a rest stop on the side of the road. And that darling little rest stop actually had a place set aside for us doggies to use to relieve ourselves at! There was this spot covered in sand that had little houses on it at various intervals all along the sand. We could go there. The mistress walked each of us there and after we had all done our business, we all got back into the car and drove on. We stayed overnight at a motel in Darien, I believe the city was called. We got to sleep in the motel room, although they had outside kennels for dogs, if we wished to use them. But the mistress seldom used those. We were well behaved, so she preferred to keep us inside the room with her and her mother. (Yes her mother always came with us on these nice trips.) We got to eat dinner in the room and were given special treats from the mistress' dinner, including pieces of steak, YUMMMM!!! We had a wonderful time on this trip, riding in the car with the windows open, sticking our noses out to sniff the fresh air and letting the wind whip through our ears (me especially, because my ears flap in the breeze). We got lots of appreciative stares from people passing by us in other cars. That's because they could see not only our doggie faces, but all the cats laying in the rear window! We were a big attraction and people loved and admired us as we went by! After our vacation was over, we came back home, of course. But it was great fun to travel with our family! See you next week!
Your Faithful Friend,
Brownie (Woof!)
