THE MONTHLY HOWL
APRIL 15, 2000
Woof Woof everyone! It's Easter time! It's that time of the year when my whole family celebrates not only the arrival of the Easter bunny and the wonderful candy eggs he brings, but the resurrection of Jesus Christ, as well. Every Easter our family celebrates with an Easter party. We have an Easter egg hunt. All us dogs (and the cats, too!) go running through the nearby park looking for the gaily colored eggs the Easter bunny has hidden. They could be anywhere. Under bushes, behind rocks, in the grass at the foot of trees, anywhere. We get to keep what we find. The winner gets a basket full of Easter goodies! Then there's a dance party with good things to eat and drink, music, and laughter, and lots of fun. The humans go to a church service to take communion and celebrate the joy of the resurrection. Spring is in full bloom. We have flowers growing in our yard already. The viola plants (the flowers that look like pansies) have already begun to blossom, even between the stones in the yard. We've got crocus flowers and dogwood trees blooming, too. The weather is getting warmer, which makes Newman and me just itch to go running in the yard all day. Newman was a bad boy. He dug a hole in the back yard. But not me. I was a good boy and came when I was called. Hope you have a happy Easter everyone! And don't forget the reason for the season. Rejoice for he has risen!
Your Faithful Friend, Brownie
