THE WEEKLY HOWL

JANUARY 7, 2000

Hellooooooo!!! Welcome to the new millennium! I hope you had wonderful holidays. We certainly did. Now it's time to think about things like New Year's resolutions and to put the Christmas decorations away for another year, if you haven't already done so. Interestingly enough, tomorrow is Elvis Presley's birthday, if any one of you cares about that. I have always felt that his song, Hound Dog, was done especially for me..... Ahem! But of course, I could be wrong..... I had a wonderful Christmas. Newman and I each got our own rawhide chew bones to play with and canned beef dog food treats in our dinners. The cats all got toy balls to chase and canned chicken and rice dinners to eat. It was really great! Santa was very good to us all this past year. Then New Year's Eve followed. Well, we celebrated the ringing in of the New Millennium in grand style. December 31st we had a wonderful New Year's Eve pizza party. Lots of family came over and ate pizza and cheese crackers and ice cream and cake. Some of the humans toasted in the New Year with frozen strawberry daquiries. I saw beautiful fireworks on tv as the coming in of the year 2000 was celebrated all over the world. The ball dropping in Times Square in New York City was especially glittery and gorgeous, even for a dog who loves to watch tv! We had noise-makers in the house. People were tooting them at me like mad. It was great fun and excitement here. We stayed up very late, too, way after midnight had gone by. New Year's Day the parade was very nice, too. The horses were the most interesting part of that. But I left the room when the football games started...... I can't stand to watch that when I can't chase that ball! Now it's over and it's back to normal life again. sigh! I will miss the excitement. See you next time!
Your Faithful Friend,
Brownie
