THE WEEKLY HOWL

DECEMBER 21, 1999

Woof and helloooooo there! Christmas is almost upon us. Now our household is deep in celebrating this wonderful, festive season. Our decorations and tree are all put up, the cards and gifts have all been sent, the shopping is finished, and the presents are wrapped and placed under the tree (yes, already there!). Christmas music is almost a daily occurrance in our home right now, as we play music on the stereo and sing happy yuletide songs. Every night our windows shine with brightly colored lights. Every day when I pass by my Christmas stocking hanging over the fireplace, I sniff at my presents there. I can swear I smell a rawhide chew bone wrapped up in there somewhere. When can I have it? Can I have it now? Can I? Can I? Huh? Can I? Huh? Can I? Sigh..... not yet. The cats don't even seem to notice that anything is happening..... But us dogs, we know! Now I'm not allowed to venture near the tree or the fireplace unless my mistress is close by to supervise me. When I pass by the front window to go out the door, my mistress stands between me and the window, to protect the Santa, Rudolph, and Snowman lights that are standing there. That's so that I won't knock them down and break them, or get tangled up in the electrical cords hanging near them. Make certain you protect your pets this Christmas, too. Watch out for tinsle! We aren't allowed to play with tinsle here. Don't let your pets play with tinsle either. It's very dangerous. It's toxic to eat and can choke your pet. Other than that, in spite of all the holiday hustle and bustle and rush around and stresses, we hope you have a very happy holiday! May you have lots of fun this year. And may Santa bring you everything you are wishing for. Wait! What's that sound?!? Did I just hear Santa up on the roof......
Your Faithful Friend,
Brownie
