THE WEEKLY HOWL DECEMBER 9, 1999

Woof! It's that time of the year again. Time to start thinking about Christmas. I've already done all my Christmas shopping! How, you may ask, can a dog go Christmas shopping? Well, I just watch my mistress surf the world wide web, point my nose at the tv screen when I see what I want on the website store, and she orders it for me to give to my brothers and sisters and all my family and friends! That's how! Of course, I also get to go out in the family car to visit the local pet shop. Dogs and cats are welcome to go right into the store at our pet shop here in Rhode Island. So I ride to the pet shop with my mistress and walk right in beside her, on my leash, that is. We can't run around free in the pet shop. Then I can point my nose at the things I want to get and my mistress buys them for me. There's a large assortment of dog toys, beds, treats, collars, leashes, and even coats and sweaters to pick from, not to mention the toys, beds, clothes, and treats for cats, too! It's great fun to go shopping there! I bought, well, picked out, all kinds of neat goodies for Newman and the cats for Christmas. But don't tell them! It's supposed to be a surprise! I can't wait until Christmas. I already told Santa Claus what I want this year. I want a nice BIG rawhide chew bone, doggie treats, and canned beef dog food to be in my Christmas stocking. Each of us has our own stocking hanging over the fireplace by the Christmas tree. Our pet stockings even have all our names written on them in glitter. We're very pampered pets here at my house! I also played Santa Claus for the family this year. I dressed up in a red and white Santa suit and posed for pictures; then I listened to Newman's and the cats' Christmas wishes and dreams. It was alot of fun. Till next time, enjoy yourselves this holiday season. It goes by fast, so savor every moment of it!
Your Faithful Friend,
Brownie (Woof! Woof!)
