THE WEEKLY HOWL
NOVEMBER 16, 1999
Woof! Before I begin, I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am that there was no Weekly Howl last week. WebTV was upgrading services and access to webpages was extremely limited and difficult. So my mistress and I decided to wait till they were finished before writing another update for you.
Thanksgiving is only a week and 2 days away now. Newman and I always look forward to Thanksgiving Day because Thanksgiving Day means FOOD!!! You all know how much we dogs love to eat! Heheheheh! Yes, once again this year we'll get our Thanksgiving walk in the park to watch the falling leaves. Maybe our mistress will even let us run through them. That's always so much fun! They crunch beneath my paws and blow and scatter in the wind. I chase leaves. When they blow around, I always love to run after them and try to catch them. But they usually crumble in my grasp or under my paws. Last month there were lots of pretty colored leaves in the trees. But now those leaves are all over the ground and the colors are going away...... It's much colder outside now, too. Winter isn't so far away now. But to get back to Thanksgiving, after our walk, we'll see the parades on tv. I love to watch whatever is happening on the tv. It's especially fun when I see other animals up there or hear them talking to me. I haven't figured out yet how they get in there. But some day, I'd like to be in there, too, if I can ever figure out how to get in. (I even cock my head to one side, wag my tail, and bark at the animals on the tv screen.) Anyway, after the parades, then comes the dinner: turkey and gravy! YUMMMM! My mistress always gives Newman and I and the cats our fair share of turkey meat and gravy, as well as bits of the liver, heart, and kidneys. There's always plenty to go around. It seems like we cook enough food for 10 people around here on Thanksgiving, even though only 2 people (plus us animals) live here! So there's alot left over afterwards. We eat turkey for days after Thanksgiving is over. My birthday will get celebrated 2 days after Thanksgiving this year. It's on a Saturday and I'll be having a big party. I hope you will come!
