During an attack, most sufferers find that all they want to do is lie or sit quietly in the dark and try to sleep.A few that when the attack is not too severe they prefer to move about and keep going,as this helps make the attack go way more quickly. They find that if give in to the pain,it seems to cause them more distress

Symptomes May Include:

•Throbbing one sided heard
•Nause and /or vomiting
•Sensitiy to light
•Diarrhea
•Frequent very hot or very cold
•Frequent urination or fluid retention
•Speech problems
•Gerneral malaise

MIGRAINE WITH AURA

Migraine with aura (formerly called" classic migraine") is the second most common form of migraine.Approximately 20 percents of migraine sufferers will experience a neurological warning sign,or aura, before the symptoms of their attack comes as visual hallucination such as zigzag lines across the visual field. For others, it will be a true blind spot before the eyes. The visual problems in the brain, not in the eye.Other aura originating from the brain may include a numb, tingling feeling in the tongue and fingertips known medically as "digitolingual paresthesia."

Definition of Migraine with Aura the attack has at least three of the following characteristics:
1. One or more temporary aura symtoms are present that actually stem from an area within the brain.

2.At least one aura symptom develops gradually over more than four minutes,or two or more symptoms occur right after each other.

3.No aura lasts longer than sixty minutes. If more than one aura symptom is present, this length of time increases proporitionally.

4.Headache follows aura within sixty minutes (it may also begin before or at the same time as the aura).
There is no evidence of another underlying disease.

WARNING SIGNS THAT ARE NOT AURAS

The aura should not be confused with another set of symptoms that can precede any form of migraine attack, known as "premonitory symptoms" Premonitory symptoms can occur hours to days before an attack.Commonly these symptoms can include:

•hyperactivity-sometimes manifesting in an unusual desire to make the house spotlessly clean or unusual talkativeness known as "the chatty cathy syndrome"
•exaggerated feelings of well-being or excitement
•a craving for a particular food (commonly sweets or chocolate)
•increased sexual desire
•depression, irritablilty,or other unexplained change in mood
•diffculty concentrating
•excessive yawning
•diffculty in forming words

The premonitory symptoms can be so subtle that they are not recognized by the suffer until brought to his or her attention by family members or close friends.

MIGRAINE WITHOUT AURA

Of seven main types of migraine, the two most common are migraine with aura and migraine without aura ("aura" being a warning sign). The International Headache Society's decription of migraine without aura
(formally called "common migraine") published in their journal Cephalagia (Volume 8) reads:"Idiopathic [cause unknown],recurring headache disorde manifesting in attacks lasting four to seventy two hours.Typical characteristics of moderate severity, aggravation by routine physical activity and association with nausea,vomiting,and/ or phonophobia [light sensitivity] and phonophobia [sound sensitivity]." In other words, migraine without aura is a recurring headache disorder that is not caused by another underlying problem such as a tumor. The pain of migraine tends to throb or pulsate, and usually (but not always) occurs on one side of the head.
The pain is often made worse by physical movement, and is usually moderate in intensity.Other symptoms can include nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to sound and/ or light.

A. at least five attacks have occurred, fullfilling B-D
B.The headaches lasts four to seventy-two hours if not treated,or if the treatment used doesn't work.
C.The headache has a least two of the following characteristics:
1.one sided-pain
2.pain pulsating with the heartbeat
3.pain of moderate or severe intensity
4.pain made worse by physical movement such as climbing stairs.

D.During headache,at least one of the following other symptoms is also present:
1.nausea and/ or vomiting
2.sensitivity to light and sound

It is important to point out that it is possible to diagnose migraine without aura even though not every potential symptom is present. For example, someone suffering from migraine without aura need have only two of the symptoms listed under C and only one of the symptoms listed under D.The variability of sypmtoms may explain why so many people find it hard to understand migraine and ask how two people with the same disorder can have different symptoms.Duh!!.. It's not the same with everyone that suffers from migraines everyone has there own symptoms varies from person to person!
