I am a retired educator living in Menominee, MI, gateway to the Upper Peninsula. My 33 years in education were spent as an elementary principal and teacher in the Marinette, WI school system. I serve on the advisory board for our local Red Cross chapter. One of my interests is ham radio, first licensed in 1991 as KB8MBT. I later upgraded and changed my call to the current one. For 5 years, I used ham radio in my 5th gr. classroom, and introduced many youngsters to the magic of radio. We made many contacts throughout the USA and other parts of the world. My other interests are weather, traveling, and webpage design using webtv page builder. I am active in our local radio club, M&M ARC, serving as vol. examiner, and operate the weekly Sun. evening net on our repeater. I also serve as an instructor for local radio licensing classes when held. My latest activity is helping out as control operator in the local DAR boy/girls club ham radio station. I am the Assistant EC for Skywarn Operations in Menominee Co. (MI), as well as holding the same position in Marinette and Oconto Co. I also run the Skywarn net for our local Cooperative ARES/RACES group for Marinette, Oconto, and Menominee Co. My latest appointment is I upgraded to extra class on April 15, 2000. I also hold DXCC with over 215 countries worked.
