On the hill above Lancer

by Deb B

A parody of Gilbert & Sullivan's "On a tree by a river..." from the Mikado

On the hill above Lancer stood a villianous outlaw
It was Pardee, Day Pardee, Day Pardee.
An attack on the ranch would be the last straw
Figured Pardee, Day Pardee, Day Pardee.
With the ranch weakened, he knew he would win
But he erred letting Madrid ride with his men
Johnny killed one and then fired once again
At Pardee, Day Pardee, Day Pardee.

Johnny sprang on his horse and made for the ranch
Followed by Pardee, Day Pardee, Day Pardee.
With the whole gang chasing him, he had nary a chance
Thanks to Pardee, Day Pardee, Day Pardee.
Without once reloading, he fired fifteen round
'Til an unlucky bullet bought him to the ground
Old Murdoch grieved for the son he just found
Drat Pardee, Day Pardee, Day Pardee.

But thanks to fate (and TV) he lived after all
So there Pardee, Day Pardee, Day Pardee.
'Twas only a bullet wound and a nasty fall
Watch out Pardee, Day Pardee, Day Pardee.
Scott ran to his brother, dragged him to safety
Shot the outlaw leader causing his men to flee
With the family united, they all lived happily
Except for Pardee, Day Pardee, Day Pardee.
